Partners
Both Mark and Martin qualified in 1982 from
Liverpool University and immediately started working as
associates gaining experience in general dental practice.
In 1985 Martin and Mark, in partnership, bought their
first practice. In 1989 the partnership moved to Manchester
and then to Bolton in 1993. Martin and Mark have been
in partnership for more than 25 years.
Martin O’Connor BDS, DGDP RCS,DPDS
Martin
gained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery(BDS) from Liverpool
University in 1982, and then achieved the Diploma in General
Practice (DGDP (UK) from the Royal College of Surgeons.
In 1995 he went on to gain a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental
Studies (DPDS) specialising in Periodontology and the
treatment of worn dentition. Martin is an active member
of the British Dental Association (BDA) and the Association
of Dental Implantology( ADI). Martin initially started
his implant career on a one year course run by Cemal Ucer
specializing in Implant Dentistry in Manchester that was
completed in 1997.The course covered placing and restoring
all the key Dental Implant Systems. Since then he has
completed many implant courses and is currently studying
for his MSc in Implantollogy at Warwick University. He
is an Astra Clinical Coach, a mentor for Salford University
involved in the mentoring of clinicians starting in Implants.
Martin has been placing and restoring implants since 1998
and mainly works with the Astra implant system but has
also placed and restored Frialit,Osteo-Ti systems and
Straumann.
Martin is a firm believer in being experienced
in the placement and the restoration of the implants to
ensure the replacement teeth are in exactly the right
place. The person who places the implant must have the
experience of the restorative process.
Martin believes in only working with the
best, most experienced Dental Technicians who are qualified
and trained in the chosen Implant system. He expects the
highest standard and quality of technical work from the
laboratory. This also applies to the support staff at
Silverwell St who have undertaken approved courses to
fully understand how the implant process works.
Martin has undergone extensive training in many aspects
of Clinical Dentistry and has a special interest in Cosmetic
and Advanced Rejuvenation techniques including Botox and
Dermal Fillers. His easy going and professional manner
has earned him respect with his patients and Colleagues.
Martin is married to Helen, a teacher and has two grown
up children. He enjoys skiing, gardening, theatre travel
and computers.
Mark Glynn BDS,
DGDP RCS, DPDS
Mark gained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery
(BDS) from Liverpool University in 1982, and then achieved
the Diploma in General Practice (DGDP UK) from the Royal
College of Surgeons. In 1995 he went on to gain a Diploma
in Postgraduate Dental Studies (DPDS) specialising in
Periodontology and the treatment of worn dentition. He
was a clinical assistant in orthodontics at Addenbrookes
Hospital Cambridge, has served on his local dental committee,
is an active member of the British Dental Association
(BDA) and the Association of Dental Implantology (ADI).
Mark initially started his implant career in 1985 attending
many courses and was involved in the first one year course
run by Cemal Ucer, specialising in Implant Dentistry,
in Manchester that was completed in 1995. The course covered
placing and restoring all the key Dental Implant systems.
Since then he has completed many advanced implant courses
throughout Europe including Certificate in Implant Dentistry
then Diploma in Implant Dentistry leading onto undertaking
an MSc in Implantology at Warwick University. He is an
Astra Mentor and Clinical Coach and mentor for Straumann
ITI and for Salford University, this involves the mentoring
of clinicians starting in Implantology up to those studying
for an MSc. Mark has been placing and restoring implants
since 1995 working mainly with the Astra and Straumann
implant systems but has also placed and restored Frialit
and Osteo-Ti systems.
Mark is dedicated to further education especially
in Dental Implantology for himself, his team and other
Dentists that he can assist to develop their experience.
This results in high clinical standards and coupled with
a very large experience in crown and bridgework leads
to an ideal person to place implants in the optimum position,
for him or his colleagues to restore.
Mark has undergone extensive training
in many aspects of Clinical Dentistry and has a special
interest in cosmetic dentistry, crown and bridgework.
His easy going and professional manner has earned him
respect with his patients and colleagues. Mark is married
to Christiane a Dentist and has four boys. He enjoys skiing,
golf, football, theatre, travel, food and life.
